Publicworks Office interrogates systems (de)formed by public spaces, private interests, and individual practices. PwO engages organizations and individuals through formal and improvised partnerships.

Jeff Maki is an artist-programmer in New York City and a product/project manager in the public transportation group at OpenPlans. Jeff earned his Master of Information Systems Management (MISM) at Carnegie Mellon University in 2005 while he was a Fellow at the STUDIO for Creative Inquiry. Jeff writes about the legibility of urban infrastructure, has been an invited speaker on the future of digital cities, and advises public and private organizations on software development and integrated technology solutions.

Alexandra Woolsey-Puffer is an artist-designer in New York City and a graphic designer for special publications, art projects and development at Diller Scofidio + Renfro. She has taught at Parsons and is currently a Teaching Artist with The Center for Urban Pedagogy. Her interests include social systems and symbolic capital.
